Day 31 and Toby's Sneak Peek.
Whew!! So, I made it to the last day of my October Photo Challenge. A photo a day for all 31 days! I am so very proud of the fall images I was able to capture that I may have otherwised walked or driven right on by. Now, I am looking forward to gathering it all and putting it into a photobook.

"The stripped and shapely Maple grieves. The ghosts of her departed leaves. The ground is hard, as hard as stone. The year is old, the birds are flown." ~ John Updike.

And, let me introduce you to Toby. Just look at that great doggie smile! He is three years old and he is just the sweetest. Reminds me of my own lab Sid. Only Toby is chocolate in color. Toby was so fun to chase around the park on this very last day of October.

Drive by shooting.
Since I have started this October photo challenge, I have been challenged to photo something daily. I must admit I have become very good at "drive by shooting". Always pressed for time during the day, I've been trying to do it early on my way to work. Literally, while driving down the road with the colorful trees lining both sides of the road.

Or, while sitting in the parking lot waiting to go into work and thinking of how I am going to dodge the raindrops.

And, along side the road while the beautiful sun is starting to rise.

It has been quite a challenge. But, I am just loving the results.

I think it's what you take out of a picture that counts.

Discovered.
Just a few little discoveries found at the Legion Play Park in Hollidaysburg last weekend. Summer is gone, autumn is fading and winter is fast approaching.

After he was quiet a long time, words began to come to him in dreams &
told him their secret names & this was the way he learned the true nature of the world. ~StoryPeople

I loved walking around and finding what was left. Still lingering, hanging on till the very, very end.
Thursday nights.
Homework on Thursday nights is always reading. We have to share reading every other page together. Somehow, according to her, I always get the "short" pages.

And, since we are on the topic of good reads...Nicholas Sparks new book is so very wonderful!! I love when an author can make you feel every emotion possible. I laughed, I cried. It was happy, it was sad. His books never disappoint me. So, if you are looking for a good read The Best of Me is just that. And, with modern day technology (I read some of it on my Nook and some of it on my Iphone), I had it finished in two days. I simply could not put it down. Now I can't wait for the movie!!

I love to read and I am glad she does too!!

the soul laughs for what it has found.

Day 19.

Perhaps some day I'll crawl back home, beaten, defeated. But not as long as I can make stories out of my heartbreak, beauty out of sorrow.

Janelle + Jon ~ 09.17.11
If there was one wedding I had been waiting inpatiently for absolutely ages, it had to be Janelle + Jon's. Most people know that I am a huge fan of feet and shoes. And, I knew waaayyy back when I first met up with Janelle + Jon last November to shoot their engagement and Janelle so happened to be wearing the cutest shoes then, I knew Janelle would not dissapoint me come her wedding day.

I mean check out these beauties. How amazingly cool are these??

We first started the morning off at Ulta. Getting hair and make up...

Headed back to Janelle's parents house were the girls got ready...

Was greeted in the church parking lot by this great bunch of handsome boys to park our cars...

Witnessed a beautiful ceremony....
And, spent the rest of the afternoon with one of the best bridal parties ever.

I simply find myself stumbling over words because I cannot possibly find a way to describe just how beautiful Janelle + Jon's love for one another really is. However, that's why I will just let the photos describe themselves. So, let me explain the next two images. These next two happen to be my all time absolute favorites of Janelle + Jon. All I did was mention briefly to Jon to whisper something to his new bride that would make her blush......

And, this is the reaction I received. I love being able to capture true emotion. Those are moments that a photographer cannot direct, but simply watch it unfold.

Janelle your smile just sums up the whole day right there!! Total perfection!!

Janelle + Jon, I feel truly blessed to have not only been able to document your love for one another, but to be in the presence of it as well. Congrats to you two for truly finding your better half! And, making me fall in love with mine even more.

Pupparazzi.
Honestly, how can you resist a face like that?? Nope. She's not mine...but she does belong to one loving family.

Off for a night of grade school football and the first time to play under the"big" lights.

Day 17.
It's Monday...need I say more? And, its going to be one very long week. Busy, busy.

"And if you feel that you can’t go on, in the light you will find the road."

I'm loving all of fall's glorious colors, but I am really hating the cold that comes along with it...sigh. Hoping your week is off to a glorious start.

Yesterday's thoughts.
Sitting out their in the freezing cold, wind slapping in my face, making my eyes tear up, watching him stand on the sidelines with such determination and dedication and then only getting in the game a few limited plays makes you truly hope all his dreams come true. Now has me wondering...are these tears really from the cold?

We all have our time machines. Some take us back, they're called memories. Some take us forward, they're called dreams.

Have a super Sunday!

Day 15.
We froze our butts off at today's game.

So, I am headed to bed because after spending 4 1/2 hours at a football field with the wind blowing and freezing, I am whipped!

Guilty.
Consider this his mug shot. He may look all cute and cuddly....

...but in reality....he has the nickname the "the beast" for a reason. And, now I have decided to keep the evidence for the next time someone says "not Sid". He would never do such a thing.
So, I am presenting to you, the jury...

EXHIBIT A: A chewed electrical cord.

Since this past Sunday, Sid has chewed approximately 4 pencils, 2 socks, 1 electrical cord, a pair of my jeans, a kitchen dish towel, and numerous rolls of toliet paper. He has also stolen 1 turkey sandwich right off the kitchen counter and 1 plate of french fries left behind on the kitchen table by my other two "beasts" that live in this house.

So, I ask you, the jury of the court....GUILTY as CHARGED!!
Day 14.

One day you will take my heart completely and make it more fiery than a dragon. Your eyelashes will write on my heart the poem that could never come from the pen of a poet.

~Jalal Ad-Din Rumi

Autumn morning light.
So far, this October photo challenge has been such a wonderful, eye opening experience. I am seeing the crisp, autumn morning light in the most glorious ways and just wanted to share.

Where the light kissed the ground, they shone like jewels.

Denise + Matt ~ Engagement.
Denise + Matt are some of the NICEST people I have ever met. The kind of people you could spend all day with because they truly have hearts of gold. Speaking of gold....I think that is why we ended up in the steel city of Pittsburgh. I was so thrilled when Denise asked if I would tag along and take engagement pictures in the black & gold city.

I must admit, I think I may have had more fun sightseeing then them.

And, I had such a blast finding little areas throughout the city to capture their love for each other.

Denise + Matt are planning to say "I do" to each other at the end of this month...and I am so looking forward to being able to document their day for them. Thank you Denise and Matt for being SO incredibly nice and easy to work with and for inviting me tag along to the big city! You both have big hearts of GOLD!

Guess what...
I bet you can guess what we did tonight...

...and we had a blast!!!
Some words...
"I'm not that good at being a tourist because I'm always looking at the way the light shines on the smallest of things or how the wind silently blows & my favorite places in the world are places filled with you. "

Because I have no other words today.

Boutiller Family ~ Sneak Peek.
I do believe this is the first time that my sister has ever been this early in getting Christmas card pictures taken and not the usual scramble a week before Christmas phone call desperately asking when we can get together to do it. Yah me!!!! Although she did have to have them done at the most brightest time of day....only because all of her clan was readily available at that time. But, what's a little sun in your eyes and some dark shadows?? Eh??

I love them all shadows and all!!!!!

Game day face.
Fall weekends were made for football. And, it doesn't get any better than an autumn day on the field. And, he definetely had his game face on. Yup, that's him, #58.

That game face also got the victory with a final score of 18-12. Go Vikings!!
