Tis the Season.
So when I stopped by Mom's in the morning, she was making these to hang on the doors. I scored one for my front door. Which is probably about the only x-mas decorating I plan on doing.

Okay, not the only decorating I did. Look ~ I put the tree up! It consists of a whole 24 inches of silver and white lights. I am actually afraid to put any decorations on it because it might just fall over. I am just not in the mood this year to dig the big tree down from the attic. I know you need at least some kind of tree for Santa to leave "big" packages under. So for now, this is going to have to do! And, I actually kind of like the simplicity of it all. Even though the kids have a different opinion about it - it is growing on them though.

And, this is what it looks like when you spend way too much time partying over your Thanksgiving break from school at Grandma's house. This is how I found him around 6:30 passed out cold on the couch with the new winter hat I bought him while out x-mas shopping (which I am officially done with all the shopping!! A record for me who is usually out out on Christmas Eve buying things I need.)

I also think he his getting sick and coming down with a cold...Tis the season.

Weather report ~ Thanksgiving morning.
Awoke this morning to freezing rain pelting off the windows. Looked out to find a pretty scene of waterdrops hanging from the limbs. Crawled back in and put my head under the covers and thought how truly blessed for being able to awake from my nice, warm bed with my loving husband right beside me and two wonderful, healthy kids across the hall still asound asleep in there warm beds. Truly, truly blessed.

Hoping you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving. May you spend it amongst good company and good food. I know I will. Happy Turkey Day!

Denial.
As I walked out onto the porch and the frigid air hit my face, I looked about the trees and wondered where have all the leaves gone? I cannot believe autumn is done and winter is in the air. But, I won't (and you can't make me) talk Christmas until we celebrate Thanksgiving.

“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.” ~ Elliott Erwitt

This is one of my most favorite images from the season. I even had it made into a 16 x 20 to display above my bed. It has such a calm, serene feel and that light is just amazing to me. It's one of my most favorite things about photography - I love being able to collect the light. I am a proud collector of light and it brings me great peace and joy and I am thankful this holiday season for that.

I love how the land changes so much from winter, to spring, to summer, and to autumn... it's beautiful to see the work which goes on. Definetely all the more to believe in a higher power above.

Him.
I am really behind on blogging, but I have been posting a lot of Lizzie lately. It's not that I do it on purpose it's just because he does not want anything to do with picture taking these days. So, this is a good time to post about this football season. Here are a few of my favorites of him.

In case you are wondering, he is No. 12 in the blue jersey. Twelve is his lucky number and he was super excited to get it back again this year. Especially when the coach told him at equipment handouts to make sure you pick out a number you like because it is one of the most important parts of playing football. And, speaking of the coach, he was Coy's favorite. He was so motivational and was always praising the boys and keeping them pumped up. That's him below giving Coy some direction. And, trust me when I say this, Coy needs lots of direction.

Here is another one of the coach's. Giving Coy more direction of course.
It's a good thing I take pictures of him playing because even though I am a proud Mama, I am also a nervous Nellie and would most likely chew my fingernails till they bled if I did not have the camera in my hands to keep my focus on other than watching him get tackled.

I love football weather. It doesn't get any better than this.

Coy plays with such passion. Football is truly one of the things he enjoys doing. Although tomorrow night is the first night of basketball practice. And that is going to be the first for playing that sport. Keeping my fingers crossed on this one. But it should prove good for some great photo opportunities!

And, keep checking back because I am super excited to post engagement pictures of this amazing couple, Janelle & Jon.

Remember.

Remember, remember, this is now, and now, and now. Live it, feel it, cling to it. I want to become acutely aware of all I’ve taken for granted.
~Sylvia Plath

I love how she is always in her own little seven year old world. I love how she lets me capture the real her. I love her spirit and her sparkly eyes.

I love how she gets excited over little things like me letting her buy a new container of chapstick at our weekly trips to Wal Mart. Or, how excited she was to receive this hand-me-down Christmas dress from her cousin that she could not wait to wear.

I love how she loves these boots and how they end up in almost every picture we take.

Mostly, I just LOVE her.

Off school with the kiddies.
It's Friday. The kids have no school. And, I took the day off to spend time with them and try to play catch up with some housekeeping and the never ending piles of laundry. I also gained two kids in the process when my niece and nephew decided to spend the night and join in all the fun.

Happy (crazy) Friday to you all!!!

Bathed in autumn light.
I spent yesterday after work, seeking the light and found it. I walked down the driveway and watched it cascade from the sky, washing across the forest on both sides of me; lighting up the world. It was a scene of wonderment; and the display of the cycle of life. I absolutely love this time of year.

I love finding the beauty in little corners of my world. It just amazes me what you can find when you just go looking for it.
