In the shadows.
The other night when Lizzie walked across the front door area I looked up and seen her shadow on the wall. So we had fun making shadows on the wall and they made a cool picture too!

Thursday's thoughts.
When I was a kid, a friend of the family made my sister and I a sock monkey. I hated that monkey. Actually, I was afraid of it. As in scared to death of it sitting in my bedroom on the shelf starring at me. It always scared me to look at it.

But, when I walked in the gift shop the other day, I seen him and I had to have him. I don't know why. What changed since I was a kid?? But I thought he was the coolest thing when I seen him sitting on the shelf in the gift shop. So, I bought him and brought him home and gave him to Lizzie and I must admit I love this sock monkey. He's cool.

Cheerleading camp.
Two weekends ago, Lizzie had cheerleading camp for the first time. Coy scared her when he told her that she was going to get hurt because they are going to throw her in the air and drop her. And, I had to tell her that "no" they are not going to throw you in the air. But, she was the littlest and so she got to be what they called a "flyer" (good name, hu?) It was so cute to watch all these little ones learn how to hoist each other up and work as a team together.

And, while out playing baseball last night - look at this ugly creature we came across on our deck.

My girl playing baseball.

And, yes, my kid is weird. Instead of wearing a normal baseball hat he has to wear another fuzzy thing that he got at the circus on top. Don't ask, cuz I don't wanna know. And, that is ketchup on his chin from super.

This nose.
It is the first thing that greets me in the morning and the last I kiss before I go to bed at night. There is nothing like the love of a faithful companion of almost 13 years now. He defintley is one of my bestest friends.

And, that cold, wet, black little nose of his is just the best! Just look at him - how could you resist??

Monday, again.
Why do the weekends go by so fast and the week drags on forever? I am still trying to wake up this morning and be positive about the week to come.

We had a super, nice relaxing weekend. We hung out and watched movies and I took Lizzie to cheerleading camp for the first time and she was super excited about that - will post pictures later.

Have a good Monday.

Football.
Last year, I could not pry this kid out of the car and across the parking lot to the football field for football camp. But this year, he has been bugging and asking how many days, hours and minutes are left till camp. So tomorrow is football camp and he is so excited!

So, we are off to buy cletes since he out grew the ones from last year already! Oh yeah, and maybe some shorts, too. I'm not really going to let him go in his underwear.

Blackberries, bikes and...boys underwear??
There is never a dull moment around my house. I've never seen anyone so excited to find ripe blackberries and eat them. She absolutely loves them. Everynight she jumps out of the car and runs down the driveway to check to see if any are ready to be picked - and she found them on this night turning her hands and tongue all red.

She also has been enjoying riding her bike up and down and all around (in her PJ's I might add).

And, the boy underwear thing? I haven't figured it out yet - but over the last past two days she has been wearing her brother's underwear outside to play - I'm hoping it is just one of those stages, ya know?

Have a good Thursday!

Skyscapes.
I must admit that I have the best view right from my front porch. Everynight at that magical hour right before the sun is to set over the mountains the whole sky changes different colors and I just love to watch the show. I have so many pictures that look like this.

Some nights it is pinkish purple.

And, other nights it is a bright orange.

And, during the day it is an awesome blue.

Bubble fun.
Our neighbors down at camp have a whole bucket full of wands for blowing bubbles out on their deck. So, Coy and Liz played bubble wars in "who can make the biggest bubble"?

Coy did a pretty good job of making the biggest bubble.

But, Lizzie wins for making the most bubbles at one time.

And, as always, the bubbles spilled and there was no more bubble making fun.
Thursday's thoughts.
Remember this? The famous, (okay, maybe the not so famous) Rubik's Cube. Coy came home the other week from the toy store with one of these crazy things. I explained to him that when I was a kid (way back in the 80's when they first came out) I had a Rubik's Cube. And, I honestly can say that I have never, ever got all the colors to align back up. Guess what...

Twenty-some years later... I still cannot get the darn thing. Oh well, Happy Thursday!

Summertime Visions.
I have been thinking a lot about summer and what it was like when I was little and how long and hot the days were. These pictures remind me of what summer is and what summer should be.

A tall glass of lemon ice tea.

A see saw at the playground.

Relaxing in the shade on a hot, hot day.

Soaking your feet down at the water's edge.

So what visions do you have when you think of summer?
My Freckle Boy.
I love in the summer when the kids are kissed by the sun and all their freckles start to pop out.

So when I asked Coy the other day where he go all his freckles he replied "The freckle store!" Well, of course, the freckle store. Why didn't I think of that?

Happy Birthday America.
Headed to the lake for a long holiday weekend. Hope everyone has a good Fourth of July.

Green overload.
I have been hearing a lot of people complain about the rainy weather we have been having lately, but just look how beautiful things around us are because of it. I cannot get enough of all the beautiful greenery that has been surrounding me.

And, this handsome guy picked a flower for his mama.

And this little girl is to anxious to pick blackberries that just are not quite ready to be picked yet.
