And this one, is going into the 2nd grade! My how time flies.

Edited: I had to post this one from this morning. The first day picture in front of my tree **It's a tradition here.

Sand fun.
This is as close to the sand as we are going to get. No beach here this summer. But they love playing in the sand down at Lake Raystown.

Tuesday's Quote.

It's not always the things that are in front that are the nicest, often the real beauties are hidden behind and out of sight.

Interpretation.

What I say: "Lizzie, please do not get in the water." (repeated x 10).

What she says: "I am not going to get in the water."

What I do: Turn my back for 20 seconds to see where her brother went.

What she does: Gets in the water.

What I say: "LIZZIE, I told you not to get in the water!"

What she says: "I know but I wanted to and there are seashells in here."

I am glad they listen so well.

Happy Thursday!

Tuesday's Quote.

"Photography is a way of feeling, of touch, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever...it remembers little things, long after you have forgotten everything."

Summer Fun.
What better way to beat the heat than swim with all your cousins. And, Coy is loving it this year because he can do it without any flotation devices. Yah! No floaties.
Georgie decked out in all his swimming gear.

My Lizzie Lou trying to tell me that her bathing suit is not on backwards - but it really was - check out the next picture - the flower is in the back - but she swears it was not on wrong.

Stay cool!

Queen Anne's Lace.
This is something I once considered a weed, but is now actually quite beautiful to my eye. If you never really taken a good look at this flower/weed - take a gander and give it a second look - it really is beautiful.

Sinking Valley Scenes
Just a few from the weekend that caught my eye while driving back Sinking Valley.

My Sunshine.

You are my sunshine.
My only sunshine.
You make me happy when skies are gray.

I am no singer and will be the first to admitt that I cannot carry a tune to save my life, but this is the one and only song that I use to sing to my babies when they were little. And every now and then they like for me to sing it to them.

This is an old tractor "thingy" that we found while camping down at Lake Raystown.

The Bow.
Daddy took him to the store and that is what he brought home. A bow and arrow. Is this any worse than the sling shot that he wanted?? I now fear for the dog's life and his sisters.

Actually, he seems to be doing pretty good and according to his Dad he has the "form". So now all he wants to do is practice and I know that he has a pretty good teacher showing him the correct way of doing it.

He's Eight.
My handsome, blue eyed, freckled nose, kool aid stained, blonde hair, ketchup eater, lego loving little boy is eight today. And, I just don't know where the time has gone? How can he actually be eight years old and going into the second grade?

He wants a sling shot for his birthday - but that just is not going to happen. Can you actually see that with his sister being in the way? So he gets to go out shopping with his Daddy today, and I am anxious to see what he comes home with.

Happy Birthday Coy Boy! I love you.

Blueberries = love notes.
I don't like blueberries. But, I love the way they look and smell. My kids, on the other hand, eat them like candy. And, on Saturday morning, Dad made the best blueberry pancakes, according to them (cuz, I don't eat blueberries).

Then I go outside to take the dog for a walk and find love notes on my car. And, I didn't even make the blueberry pancakes!!

Handwritten with love from Lizzie.
